For anyone interested in an example of how MRVC conducts business, here you go: Six years ago I founded System Support Solutions, Inc. as a Free-Space Optics (optical wireless) link integrator. Since then, my Company has become the leading integrator and distributor of FSO solutions from all seven companies that make it. MRV (then Optical Access) was our first product source, and for the first couple years provided the majority of our equipment. Then, eveidantly as a means of curtailing excessive equipment returns, MRV implemented a policy of "no FSO order acceptance without a Site Survey (installation plan) document on file". Only problem with this policy is that because it takes 8+ weeks to get an FSO link out of MRV, you have to inventory links to sell them (few will wait 8 weeks) but you can't inventory them without a Site Survey to send to MRV. Get the picture here: no site survey, no link...no link...no sale...no sale...no FSO order to MRV...etc. etc. adnauseum! Needless to say we sell 50 competitive links (primarily Canon and LightPointe) for each MRV link, in spite of the fact that MRV has some good models that we would like to use more often. We've ran this all the way up the "flag pole" including to Noam Lotan, CEO many, many times to no avail. We've suggested they require we send them the Site Survey at the point of sale to the ultimate customer. No luck. Amazing. Never, ever seen anything like it. Almost like a death wish. Hope someday someone acquires the company.
