I have a sort of general question re the brokers involved in the hedge fund debacle - doesn't this situation make them prime short candidates? I have no experience in shorting and anytime I think something is "obvious" I'm always suspicious of my conclusions but it seems to me that Goldman Sachs/Merrill Lynch/Bear Stearns/etc. should be great short plays. I'm interested in the opinions of those on this thread who are more experienced short players. tia--
