This article says semi sales slowing; that's just the opposite of what was said in the copy of Electronic Buyer's News that I received at work today.
The current estimate for Intel for this quarter is still $0.91/share, as it has been. In view of the analysts recent comments, I don't think that there is a whisper number, or if so perhaps it is even a cent or two BELOW the consensus. If Intel makes the consensus -- maybe even misses it by a cent or two -- AND if their comments for 4Q are upbeat, the stock will at least hold. If Intel can hit $1.00 or close to it, and upbeat comments, we should see 110 to 120. Don't forget that on the same day,Intel and HP are giving the first official, formal, detailed, public presentation on Merced. Also, the "Inside Intel" book is just hitting the shelves, and Worth Magazine is coming out with special coverage. Intel coverage could be very big in the general circulation press by the end of the month, if everything is favorable, we could see quite a pop. |
