This month IEEE will decide on 40G and 100G data transmission standards. 40G for server farm cable lengths. 100G for fiber optics network. Lucent is proposing polarization multiplexing beyond DWDM that ARRS started with NT licensing.

Cable technology now is upto date with Telco data transmission technology standards, And ARRS is doing data storage solution, which will be upto date on cable length in cable ground station for the server network.

Edge data compression is done in Framingham, Ma. for AT&T mobile, by a small company. And the more advanced analog/digital approach in chipsets(DSP plus compression library) has not been worked out yet. More advanced multichannel data compression and artificial intelligence dictionary correction used as data compression engine? Google spell checker has to be studied? Use word or sentence abbreviation or short hand for another data compression layer?

But ARRS will be upto date with its own research into data compression, QAM and multiplexing technology.

Footnote:
Polarization has a crude way is to explain it as going thru a polaroid filter, which is phase change, which is synchronization of time constant delayed data stream on many carrier frequencies. Similar to 75us delay in TV multiplexing for stereo reproduction. This is done in fiber optical network with multiple laser wavelengths(multicolor or multi IR frequencies) and multiplexing by polarization of synchronized data stream. AT&T and Lucent liked simple time division multiple access(not popular because of speed limitations), but ARRS has to look also at code division multiple access(cdma)?
