re: A one off decrease won't change the other factors that are causing a continual increase, and moving to a single payer system that takes up a larger and larger part of GDP will seem a step closer to Marxism.

Marxism? Are public schools Marxism? Are public Libraries Marxism? Roads? Parks?

The health care 'payment system' is just another 'thing' to look at and do as efficiently, effectively and cheaply as possible. Single payer has proved to do that in every 'real world' test (and few "Marxist" countries).

Why do you continue to defend our convoluted, dysfunctional and grossly expensive system? It can't be pragmatism; it must be ideology.
