How could a single parent (or any parent for that matter) teach these values if they have to work long hours and come home exhausted and unable to spend the necessary amount of time with their kids? That absurd statement just flat-out makes me mad. You have little or no confidence in millions of American parents who scrimp by on meager incomes, and yet manage to raise good, productive kids who value those things. For generations, this country has been built on parents just like that. That statement is so elitist, so pompous, so trendy, so supercilious, that I hardly know where to start any meaningful discussion with anyone with a mindset like that.
