Your youthful encounters of the character building kind sounds so familiar to me, JDN. Did you and I live in the same house without knowing it? And maybe we are even kinfolk. There were so many living in my house when I was growing up that I didn't even know all of them. Sounds like you were among them as your experiences as a youth growing up in the Great Depression matches mine exactly. But we seem to have made the best of it and wound up with much to be thankful for. RIGHT! To bad this modern generation missed out on so many character building experiences. That explains a lot as far as I can see.
