China's exports of unwrought zinc and its alloys during the first half of 2007 rose 60.9% year on year to 190,755 mt, with the value of the exports rising sharply by 150.2% to about $765.7 million, according to latest figures from the country's General Administration of Customs. The exports of unwrought zinc and its alloys in June alone totaled 13,564 mt at a value of $51.3 million, compared with 10,503 mt at a value of $37.55 million in May.
Exports of zinc oxide and peroxide for January-June, however, reported a marginal increase of 0.6% to reach a total of 33,790 mt. The value of the exports rose 57.7% to $90.27 million. The exports of zinc oxide and peroxide in June were 7,457 mt at a value of 19.94 million, up compared with 4,267 mt worth about $10.99 million in May.
Exports of unwrought tin and its alloys from China jumped 46.2% to 16,218 mt during the six months, with their value also rising 142.8% to about $211.4 million. The exports of these metals in June alone were 2,612 mt at a value of $35.8 million, up from 2,301 mt at a value of 32.33 million reported in May.
Unwrought antimony, waste and scrap exports during the six-month period, however, dropped 72.5% year on year to 3,599 mt. Their value was also down 66.8% to about $17.03 million. The exports of these products in June were 796 mt worth about $3.9 million, rising from May's level of 299 mt worth a total of $1.4 million. |
