My opinions are all speculation of course, but I don't get it either. Their agreement with VZN is reported to include cooperation with VZN on Bluetooth and other electronics products (set top boxes and products for the FIOS offering?)but I have my doubts that they will see very much in the way of revenue from the licensing of the infringed patents. QCOM will soon deliver a workaround to the patent in question so I'd have to imagine that BRCM gets nothing on phones with QCOM chips that don't infringe. I think that they got involved in doing the heavy lifting for NOK by trying to break the business model of license one license all patents. The only thing they succeeded in doing was pi&&ing off QCOM and alienating the carriers by threatening their product launches. I think this has been a long term mistake for BRCM. I am short BRCM and long QCOM, so take my opinions for what they are worth. By the way, your ID suggests you are from NJ. I am in NJ as well.
