Yes, NJ

Am also long QCOM, but was thinking of selling when this all started. However, innovation must be the deciding factor in this business, one would guess. And the next generation of phones with 65 nm, etc. should be pivotal, especially with iPhone competition. So, it is not surprising to see VZ do this. And, longer term it would seem that QCOM will continue to innovate and drive the next generation of phones forward. Will they collaborate with AAPL in the future, perhaps?

Basically, I was just wondering why BRCM started this in the first place. Is there some sort of professional rivalry between the CEOs of Q and B? Maybe they went to school together, or something?
