In the three weeks I was on Diovan HCT, for high blood pressure, I gradually ended up with joint aches so bad I didn't even want to pick up a glass of water. It took me several months to get rid of the aches after I quit taking it. The first BP medicine they put me on was Lisinopril, 5mg dose. The first day was ok, the next day my ankles were swelling and the third day my BP was ultra high (@195/110, thereabouts) and I had swelling in both ankles and my wrists and hands. I stopped taking it that day. Apparently it was shutting down my kidneys. I just decided I better get with the program and find out what was driving it so high. Since its dropping nice and easy back to the safe range, I must be on the right track getting off gluten and doing these cleanses, and going to organic foods. Time will tell.
