Why do you folks insist on missing the point?
We are all "idiots" and every thing we touch is a "mess!"
Either there is no God... or there is and we killed his only son!
Either the "Founding Fathers" were a pack of hypocritical, greedy, selfish, spinmiesters and terrorists... or they were ordained by natural law, never told a lie, and at least 30% of the population should be dead or in slavery.
It doesn't matter whether we look like a goober and eat rattler in Texas or cheese on Wall Street. Take your pick... predator or prey... Gandhi or Robespierre... it simply doesn't matter. We carry them both every where we go. We are what we eat and we eat everything... including each other.
What's it been 50... 100K years? Yet we ever remain in this "idiotic" state... predator, prey and both at the same time. Is it any wonder we've got hypocrisy up the ying/yang? Liars and frauds in every mirror and every where we turn?
How could we possibly produce anything but idiots and liars as politicians? How could we possibly hang together as a nation, people, group, without agreeing to adopt some alternate reality of national myths... without rationalizing our sins away... without dispensing with the facts... without creating pseudo-scientific justifications... our own propaganda... all while coloring some "other" nation, people, group with all the low and base "evils" we steadfastly refuse to admit in ourselves?
Heck... even if you could find a politician who knew what the facts were he couldn't possibly act like it, or even tell anybody, or we'd have him strung up in less than 24 hours.
"Idiots" in charge? Why this homo sapiens gang couldn't possibly exist without 'em? Certainly not in a democracy with freedom of speech of all places! And come hell, revolution, dictatorship or high water... when the commotion settles down... we'll still be there... churning out our "idiots"... and eating as much as we can get.
