Am I the only one who has read the editorial by George Gilder in today's WSJ entitled "The Fiber Baron"? He discusses Bernard Ebbers and WCOM, making the point that data is the communications wave of the future and that he (B.E.) is about to get a lock on fiberoptic transmission. He also states that the communication "establishment's only hope is to go for a wireless local loop based on Qualcomm's code division multiple access technology as Sprint is doing". Dynamite piece! Do you think that this means WSJ will recognize the value of this emerging technology and stop berating it with rehashed old arguments. With the current trend of per minute local pricing, qdog's model may become reality with WLL competing with local wired services.
