Hectic weekend- but this morning I started some baked beans that turned out marvelously. I don't know how many of you have done baked beans in a crockpot- I hadn't before today. But I took about 8 cups of dry pinto beans and boiled them for an hour in a stock pot with plenty of water. I then drained them, and filled my large crockpot up to the fill line- I had made too many beans, so I put some in the fridge for chili tomorrow. After I had put the beans in, I added two whole large onions, diced, about 1/8 cup kosher salt and 1/8 cup garlic salt, 1/5 jar of dried minced onion (maybe 2 tablespoons?), a jar of grandma's molasses, and about 1/4 cup of honey. The amounts are approx because I just drizzled stuff in until I liked the taste- which is the way I cook. Then I set the bans to cook 6 hours. When I got home, they were on warm, and I cooked them another 1 1/2 hours on high- and then we ate them. They were fabulous. My dinner was two bowls of home made baked beans. I was going to serve organic apple chicken sausage, but we were all so full of baked beans we just had some fruit (peaches) with our beans.

I had a granola bar for B-fest, and several bottles of water, and some goat cheese and grapes for lunch.
