It really does cut right through the simplistic conclusions and platitudes of the faithful. Of course it's not likely that they'll read it.

No, they won't, it requires an attention span. Galbraith is a commentator who probably has more experience in the region than virtually anyone in the Bush admin or, for that matter, any of the talking heads out there. He does have more sympathy for the Kurdish position than anyone else as well, but what he says makes sense to me.

In the unlikely event that Biden gets elected President, he will almost certainly have a high ranking position in the State Dept, perhaps even Secr of State. Biden's plan for Iraq as outlined on the Newshour with Jim Lehrer last week was likely written with a great deal of input from Galbraith.
