Being able to offer a processor/chipset bundle doesn't hurt. But there are other factors at play. For one, processor performance is less important, while power consumption, especially at idle, is more important. And Intel doesn't do as well, especially on the platform level. Factor in a lower price, as wbmw has graciously pointed out, and AMD becomes an attractive solution.
