Arun, the lack of famine was around the world. Over centuries, Malthusian humans were up against natural disasters, constant territorial wars, disease and all sorts.

Grains became vastly productive in recent decades.

The lack of famines nearly everywhere [other than politically inspired ones] is due to lots of variables. It's simplistic to point out no famines since the British left.

Correlation is not causation.
