When Bernanke talks about 2% "inflation" that of course is the official "core" number which many of us believe grossly understates actual inflation. So his 2% target probably means 4-5% in reality.

Too Bernake is on record as arguing that "true" inflation is even lower than the core CPI. The gap between Bernake's definition of inflation and the real world that most people live in is as wide as the Grand Canyon.
