The problem, for you, is that the props upon which the rationale for war rested have been kicked out. The war is per se a failure, since it "preempted" nothing. When you go to war to preempt something, and then find out the "something" is a fantasy, you have lost.

Now you might, in desperation, want to argue- "But but but, we can salvage something out of this." Fine, maybe you can- I doubt it, but maybe. However, that salvage operation is not you being right, it is you engaging in a salvage operation. No one in America would have agreed (with the possibly exception of you and the Bush admin), to go in to Iraq absent a threat to the US. Our whole reason for aggression was the "threat". Absent a threat, the reason for our aggression is gone.
