It was information I did not previously have, however since I entered this thread I picked up the following from the Motley Fool with other filings for CHAR available from EDGAR Online Aug 1997 (Qtrly Rpt) More filings for CHAR available from EDGAR Online August 15, 1997 Chaparral Resources Inc. (CHAR) Apparently all Chaparral's domestic properties have been sold or disposed of. The only oil and gas interest of the Company at this time is as a result of the Company's investment in Karakuduk-Munay, Inc. (KKM) through Central Asian Petroleum Guernsey Limited (CAP-G). KKM is a closed joint stock company in Kazakstan. I believe this is near or bordering on the same oil reserves AIPN (with committments / holdings in Kazakstan), China and the major oil conglomerates have focused their attention. Another quote can be researched from Yahoo. On Thursday September 25 Chaparral ended talks of an oil deal with MMS to sell a 17.5 percent interest in the Karakuduk oil field in Kazakstan. "Under the deal, MMS was to pay Chaparral around $6.0 millionS with 2.5 million shares in MMS. It had also agreed to take a 35 percent interest in Central Asian Petroleum Guernsey Ltd, a unit of Chaparral." I hope I am reading this right. If I am then the potential is there.
