Ted, > Health care in this country is dictated by the profit motive. When did profit become more important than a person's life?

On the one hand, the profit motive combined with free-market competition is one of most efficient ways to increase productivity and reduce costs in any industry.

On the other hand, I too have difficulty reconciling the heartlessness of free-market economics with the human need for regular health care.

What I do know, however, is that if you want to pursue socialistic programs, your goal ought to be humanitarian over brute efficiency. In that sense, I understand Z's perspective, but I will never understand other liberals who fool themselves into thinking that universal health care is the "cheaper" solution.
