All I know about is how to lose weight without overexercising and how to lower BP without drugs or a triple bypass. It turned out to be quite simple and did not stray too far from the professional medical advice of experts, both MD, nutritionist and ND.

1. exercise, about 500 calories worth a day. i.e. 3 miles slow walk. that is all it takes.
2. reduce total caloric load by 500 calories per day. be serious. Count. Don't cheat ever.
3. eat small portions and often. avoid the three squares regimen as you overeat when you get serious about it.
4. reduce protein and fat. drastically. no more milk, meat or eggs basically.
5. reduce carbs or change them from high glycemic to low, i.e. white carbs to highly coloured and bright. i.e. from white bread and pastry to fruit and veggies.
6. eat only whole grains.
7. eat only organic.
8. avoid processed foods. If it doesn't look like it came from a garden or a tree or swam at one time, don't eat it. Eat as it comes from nature. No breading, baking, or boxing.
9. eat the bioflavonoids and herbs (supplements and anti-oxidants that lower insulin sugar reactions, and anti-oxidize cholesterol. fruit, onions, garlic, celery, walnuts , crushed tomatoes, fall into this category.
10. stick to tried and true meds that have been used for decades for lowering cholesterol. Believe it or not that includes pantethine, policosanol, guggullipid and niacin in the no flush form. niacin has been used for 40 years. ONLY drug that increases HDL!! we now know that is VITAL. Guggul sterone has been used to lower BP for 6000 years. yep. Egyptians and Indians used it. It is in the Vedanatas and in Herotodus.

Results 155/95 and 280 lbs, frequent ischemic attacks to 230 lbs 130/80 and feeling well. Don't need the bypass. Don't need lipitor. Don't need BP drugs.

Reducing fats, eating fish and anti-oxidants do count. They do work. But you practically have to make religion out of diet. No more sweets, bacon and steaks, whole milk etc.. Walk EVERY day.

The thing about all the hooey about this study or that study on diets is THE PEOPLE DID NOT STICK TO THE DIET AND DID NOT EXERCISE. AND ANYWAY THEIR VITAMIN DESTROYING DIETS, SMOKING, AND TV INDUCED LETHARGY REDUCED ANY GOOD THAT THEIR MEAGRE DIETARY CHANGES MIGHT HAVE DONE FOR THEM.

Why eat a few fruit and then continue to eat a diet laced with insecticed/herbecide/hormone that destroys your body's inositol and vitamin E? 25% of ALL the autopsies in the US find NO vitamin E in the body whatsoever!!! This is serious. People are poisoning themselves.

Cattle today has practically no CLA and way too much hormone and antibiotic. On a grill meat'ss nitrosamines develop carcinogenic properties that are no longer modulated by contained acids. Its vitamin load is useless. The meat will supply only protein and no other nutritive value. The kill off of vitamins in your body is not worth risk.

Does it work? Goddamn right it does. I am living proof. Bill Clinton was an idiot. All the exercise in the world did him no good at all. Eat the McFatlifestyle that he did and you are headed for the OR.
