A couple of things -

1. I suggest we rename the thread header. Picks of the quarter doesn't really fit since we seldom overlap exactly with a quarter, and the length of the match is often more than one quarter. Please throw out some ideas over the next few days, and we'll choose whichever header sounds best.

2. Perhaps add something into the rules that the responsibility to follow these rules lies with the player. That way when poster's throw out pink sheet stocks and ETF's as picks, and we don't notice it (until they get into first place and the game is almost over), we can blame them for not following the rules, not blame someone else for failing to monitor them.

3. I'll make a small traveling trophy starting next round. This is the main reason I want to rename the thread header. The trophy will have space for 10-20 names, and I'll mail it to the winner of the next round with their screen name engraved. Then it's their responsibility to mail it to the winner of the following round with the new holder's name engraved. We'll see how long we can keep the trophy traveling around. For those of you that won already and didn't get your name on the traveling trophy, you get a nice congratulations, and that's it!

4. Suggested rule change - You can trade on any day of the month, but only on one day per month per player. This allows the player their own decision on which day to buy/sell/short/cover, and limits the amount of activity I have to keep up with. You get the closing price the day you post the trade if you post it during market hours, or you get the closing price on the next market day if you post it when the market is closed. If you trade when I'm away for a few weeks or whatever, I'll just look up the closing prices when I get back. And along with this rule Taro you should put somewhere in the rules section that if any part of your trade breaks a rule (eg, accidentally put more than 50% of you capital into one stock, buy an pink sheet, etc.) then the entire trade is void and you keep your existing positions.

BTW - I don't think BAKED ALASKA has posted here since his initial picks this round, so our winner may have passed on......
