david, thnkx for msge. great insight about MMs being the "House". I don't think the analogy is tight, tho, because MMs step in and out of competing and cooperating (read colluding) with each other. I believe they will be replaced someday by automation capable of scouring "inventories" in brokerages for stocks and exchanging them, in the true meaning of the weord "exchange". All math, no "professional traders" screaming in a mid-east style bazaar.
About your other points ... I can relate to Christ, but certainly can't party down with him. Maybe he had super powers, maybe not.
