I think that the demo today of the 3.0G Phenom is a good
data point that indicates the process can hit frequencies
that will be needed.

I find it amazing that you conclude that without knowing anything about the power dissipation of that part, and any special processing (e.g. trading yield for more speed) that resulted in its production.

But you are correct in one thing: That is exactly what AMD wanted everyone in attendance to think when they staged that stunt, their roadmaps notwithstanding.
