Okay he just grew up there. I can’t claim intimate knowledge of his religious beliefs, still I’ve read repeatedly of Al Qaeda and Wahhabi similarities.

There is no love lost between the Saudi Muslims and Osama. In fact, bin Laden wants to bring down the House of Saud. Now had the US kept its air bases out of Mecca, its very likely his focus would be Saudi Arabia and not the US.
