I would add that the News yesterday is regarding the "allegations" of the EU. Correct me if I'm wrong , but whether they actually get "fined" and whether it will be sooner or later remains to be seen !

Correct. From my understanding, this is like an inditcment in the US. A bit more than just "alligations". This is formal. It means that the EU is prepared to move ahead with its case against INTC. The next stage of an "investigation".

Much more serious. That means that these guys think they have evidence that will stick. Remember that in the past the EU has conducted and investigation but did not bring charges. This time they got help from the Japanease case.

Of course "all" this would do would be to level the playing field. Tie the hands of the bully so as to speak.

The result of that in Japan has been a huge design win with Toshaba (perhaps SONY in the making?).

Any fines would not necessarily go to AMD. But AMD may be able to use any evidence from a public trial in their civil case.
