My point (originally) was about problems with reading this forums with certain posters. I wasn't nitpicking you, I was pointing out that your post was so full of hyperbole that it was hard for you to make your point. You said 3 things, all of which actually had some valid points, but when you posted them the way you do you come across as having a lack of credibility -- just like NG with his hourly "to the moon" posts that he used to have.

Nice that you also picked out the most interesting part of your post. The fact is, nobody in their right mind would do what AMD has done for the last few years. How could they ever win when even winning means destroying the market and losing? As another post just pointed out, look at the price of high end quad core parts. It's not your fathers microprocessor business. This is my problem with AMD right now. If they win, we have $50 microprocessors for everyone, which is great for consumers but bad for both AMD and INTC.

A similar argument could be made in many high capital industries. Why would anyone be in the DRAM business? Why would anyone be in the airline business? Honestly, I don't know. I know I don't personally want to be in them, even though I know as a consumer that I want enough SOMEONES to be in them for there to be good competition.
