So why not spend the next $Trillion on a "War on Rush Hour Traffic" instead of a "War on Terrorism"? Why not spend the money on a new a state of the art detection system for air controllers. The major reason for why US airports require considerable spacing distances between planes is because the current radar system used by controllers dates back to the 1960s can not handle any closer spacing. One of the major causes of delays and slow downs of planes is this requirement. Meanwhile, the number of flights on time has fallen to all time low this year. So here we are spending billions on this f-up war in Iraq while we cause huge delays in our air traffic system and subject people to increasing danger. And its not just the air controller system that's in trouble. Our highways and bridges are falling apart.....literally. Our schools are falling apart.....literally. Our health system is in chaos.....literally. We have people going to bed hungry every nite. Why? How many wars have we been in since the 1960s? How much money was spent on those wars?
