It's a pretty fine line on our need to know sometimes, Buddy. The example that comes to my mind is the enemy submarines operating and sinking U.S. ships in the Gulf of Mexico, our east coast and maybe even into the mouth of the Mississippi pre our entrance to WWII. I think the public had every right to know about the intrusions and hostile actions, but to openly broadcast and report our plans of action or inability to react to these threats would have been the height of foolishness. And probably something in that day that would have landed you in deep dooo.

To assume that anyone that would leak the info you are talking about had access to the "whole picture" and facts that went into the decision is also (imho) foolish. It could have been just as you stated, but you don't really know.....do you?
