I don't believe all they say.

But every business today in medicine would be looking for money. The economic engine that drives them to that is easy to criticize. We laud Banting for giving away insulin and his insisting that no profit be made on it. However Connaught made money from supplying it handsomely. In my opinion Banting's gesture while noble did not improve the research climate for development of drugs connected with insulin. Banting was a real researcher and a first class scientist who went on to make major contributions to medicine and the military during the war. But the government of Canada supported him to the tune of millions then. Not all are so lucky, so they must kowtow to the dollar god.

Some who tout supplements are research driven and the research is amazingly well funded and widespread. It is not just snake oil. But if you want a national distribution, and testing you have a few bucks to lay out. Some imagine it is as easy a bottling plant and a little purification and voila! you are national. Add about 5 to ten million dollars for branding, advertising and marketing and you might be right.

I don't know about supplements being hooey. I just about cured my heart disease with supplements diet and vitamins. I know it works. The people who haven't tried it don't know. So their talk is an empty barrel. Guesses backed by thick prejudicial cataracts, But I will put these methods up against the entire medical community. If they believe statin drugs and bypasses are necessary and diet, exercise and vitamins don't work, I will go toe to toe with them for any money, any day. But I know one thing, and I have seen it many times in many other disciplines, from mining to military to combustion engines. You have to have the absolute discipline to make it work. It involved complete lifestyle changes and rigorous routine. You cannnot be a Lindsey Lohan and make it work. You cannot backslide and let talk be your shield. You have to have will and control of your excess. Heart disease is defeated with the mind and belief in the best research. Screwing around with scalpels, dangerous diuretics and other drugs from mainstream medicine will not have nearly as good effect.

You want to lose 20% of your body mass in 6 months? Take your blood pressure down 17% in 3 months? Avoid a bypass or taking drugs to alleviate crippling conditions? I know how. I should charge money for it. It could save your life. I know people I have sent cures too, do NOT believe. Even with accompanying MD literature. I don't have to ask. If they have no questions about dosages, or routines, they are not in to it. A tombstone awaits them at least 7 years before their time and a lot of suffering. I can testify to that. I have seen about 4 go in the past two years, many year before their time.

They want a man in a white lab coat to tell them who is their priest of god in their mind. They want mama to give them a spoon of syrup. They are the saps, not the person who eats health food. I know all the jokes about vegetarians falling asleep at bus stations. but I have seen the exact opposite. All the people I see at Vegan restaurants and in health foods stores look lean and healthy. One guy I know who owns a Vegan restaurant is one of those ultimate fighters and can pick up his own weight over his head with one hand. And no steroids. A girl I know who ran an extreme raw food outfit in Quebec looked so healthy she absolutely glowed. I have never seen skin like hers! No I only saw a modest amount. It was the tone I was talking about. Get your mind out of the gutter.
