Roger, I requested a check last week and still have not received it. I got an E-mail from Datek saying my check would be mailed on October 2, after my trades settled, but as of October 6, no dice.

Like you, I find sleep a bit challenging while having a large balance at Datek. I am trying to remedy my insomnia by withdrawing all my money. Datek is by far the worst broker I have dealt with. I have had accounts with Schwab, Accutrade, Brown and Co, Fidelity, and National Discount Brokers, but have never experienced the types of problems I have had with Datek in the two weeks in which I traded with them.

I had a nightmare last week in which I could not get an execution on 2000 shares of FEET for nearly 30 minutes. During this time, the stock dropped nearly 1 point, costing me over $1,500!! Datek has still not responded to my complaint. This is irresponsible, and leaves me no choice but to bring them to arbitration. Every other broker who I have ever had a problem with was reachable by phone within a few minutes, and normally resolved the problem in less than an hour.

My advice to everyone is to avoid DATEK!
