AT&T in talks with GTE - report
NEW YORK, Oct 7 (Reuter) - AT&T is in talks with several companies, including GTE Corp, as it
tries to find a partner in the wake of WorldCom's (WCOM) $30 billion bid for MCI
Communications Corp (MCIC), USA Today said on Tuesday.
Talks with GTE resumed last week, the paper said, after WorldCom began its bid for MCI.
The talks include senior executives, in contrast to negotiations earlier this year among lower-level
managers, the paper said.
