I don't know. I have heard from some that it might. It's use is sound as a metal collector. It is used by mainstream medicine in lead poisoning etc.. What mainstream is saying is that it cannot just work on calcium in serum as it should take it from the bones first. That is simplistic knee jerk reasoning and I reject the negative here unless the mechanism is shown. I believe however that the efficacy has yet to be demonstrated.

One chemist who sells what mainstream says is a quack remedy uses it in oral form with lysine and proline, two the Pauling LDL decoys, to make what he says saved him from totally crippling congestion. Who the hell knows? The injection thingie is not necessarily necessary. And it used to be dangerous. No longer I believe. I have heard advocates, but placebo or no I dunno.

Aside -->

Lysine being a real decoy may be real, but arginine is known to be effective in enlarging arteries. Don't go over 3 grams. Lysine is higher in vegetarians, arginine up to a gram a day in meat eaters. Ditto carinitine for the meat crowd. It is interesting indeed that all the heart amines and good old blood thinning b12, are meat bound, but vegg heads get lower HD and they get their excess lysine in veggies.

Amino therapy doctors say always have lysine in excess to arginine in the system or bad things may happen. And if you do use arginine, take quercetin and if you do that take zinc. Vicious circle ain't it? Arginine is not essential, but may be therapeutic. It can act as a natural viagra. Easy on that stuff. Don't go over 3 grams, especially if you have had a recent heart attack.

L-Arginine is not antagonistic to lysine vis a vis its now known role in being the main angiotensin antagonist. (BP is raised by the peripheral vascular clamping caused by angiotensin. Arginine --> Nitrous Oxide is the oxidant that helps lowers BP.. this may help explain why excess anti-oxidants may wreak havoc on LDL as increased clamping can cause turbulent blood flow, and excess calcium release. Without magnesium in excess, anti-oxidants to excess may suppress NO and thereby cause vascular clamping and high BP. The magnesium will suppress calcium, decrease plaque and prevent the clamping from being serious. It is advised to space out anti-oxidants from the useage of Arginine and magnesium.

Soy-genistein-arginine is a newly discovered chain that says why soy is good for high BP heart disease sufferers.

Read Braverman on it.
