Did the “bag guys” really need a month to two to regroup and retaliate? Or was it the case that, during this two month gap, combatants from outside the country were being filtered in? I think he nailed it. The time was needed for both and to set up main supply routes for the budding insurgency. What may be most amazing is someone was ready immediately to make hay out of the looming chaos. Obviously some Arabs read Marx and Mao. The chaos loomed because we failed to get security systems in place. Even as the bad guys were learning they could operate with reckless abandon and the terror was beginning in earnest, we were still dismantling Iraqi security and military units. Some of us saw the mistake early. Try to imagine American cities suddenly with no police! A quick move to anarchy is inevitable and predictable.
