Yawn. You can always find anecdotes. Just as many, if not more, anecdotes can be dredged up about HMOs denying payment, labeling such procedures as "experimental" and thus not covered, demanding the patient see an endless number of specialists, etc.

And that assumes the patient even has insurance. If they don't, their effective wait time can be much, much longer.
