For the same trouble, they could be used anywhere in the world where the US has bases or is fighting "terrorists". For example, the M1 Abrams tank refurbishing facilities are in Alabama and Ohio but that doesn't mean the tanks will be used in those states. (PS. I know about this because I saw a program on TV about it last night)
