Somebody in the Wall Street Journal had this to say:

Sun disclosed that revenue from products actually declined 1% in the fourth period, while revenues from services rose 3%. Among its computer lines, the company reported particularly rapid growth during the fiscal year of servers based on a chip technology called Niagara as well as machines based on x86 chip technology, which is sold by Intel Corp. and Advanced Micro Devices Inc.

Toni Sacconaghi, analyst with Sanford C. Bernstein & Co. said he was not as optimistic as the stock market about Sun's results, in part because the company benefited from lower prices on memory chips that helped boost profitability. Without the benefits of component pricing, Sun's profit margins are "not nearly the blow-out" they appear, he said.

The headline on the article ended in the words "aided by costs cuts".

Notice that revenues from products declined.

After-hours trading doesn't mean a whole lot IMHO. I'll believe something has changed when revenue, profits AND costs all go up at the same time.
