You asked

*What specific "progress" in Iraq over the last several years can you identify as having been a "bad thing" for the "dems?"

*And how, specifically, was that alleged "progress" harmful to the democrats?

I gave you an the Anbar Awakening as an example and explained how it is harmful to the Dem leadership, thus answering your question. My post was mainly about Washington and now you reply with a long post about Iraq, declaring that the signs of progress are really mirages, etc. Nonetheless, they are signs of progress which indicate that it is premature to declare that "the surge has failed" as Sen. Reid has done.

But you don't understand that because you don't want to think about what it is about the Iraqi culture, religions and history that make the whole occupation and democratization of Iraq the most foolish foreign policy blunder this country has ever experienced, and the most readily predictable. Ed

Sounds like somebody else is deeply invested in failure too.
