Ken my first awareness of seizures came at night. Just like a bad dream.. However, I was into denial.. Completely. I would not admit there was anything wrong with me.. It took 10 friends sitting down with me and telling me that my personality had changed. That I had something wrong and to please go to the Neurologist.. The EGG requires staying up all night. I worked out a compromise that I could sleep from 10 until 2 am and report at 8 am... ( I resisted as I did not want to stay up ALL night.. Denial )

As with most brain injuries ( I had students who had them so I saw it first hand) the brain is not functioning normally. I developed a terrible temper and snapped at everyone. Once when I was driving someone home from a concert she mentioned that they had to hurry to get home for the cats. I distorted that information completely and drove home like a mad woman thinking I was helping...

Looking back NOW I can see where I was unreasonable but could not see it then...

In my dreams I was dying and falling into space. Then I would wake up. These were the beginning of the S...

I never fell down. Just spaced out... and could not function. I also had a scream which is known as the epilepsy scream.. I did not know I screamed. I thought I was just calling for help.

Still after a Seizure I was in denial. It's amazing how the brain works... One of my friends married a lovely sweet guy who was the perfect mate. He developed brain tumor and he turned into a savage... He swore at her( those recovering from comas often wake up with a vocabulary of swear words that one would wonder how they learned them )

Injuries to the back of the head may not be as serious as to the front. Look at Cassius Clay. I am sure that it was the poundings he took fighting that created the man he is now.

You can always get an EGG if you are worried about yourself. Go see a Neurologist. A lot of us seniors get dizzy. I still can experience that getting up too fast.

Good luck to you and thank you for all your contributions to this board.

Disclaimer... I might sound like I know it all about this but I don't. I am only coming from my own experience. I wonder whether they will declare Judge Roberts an epileptic..
According to a noted Neurologist last night he is.. AND should be on medication as the seizure will repeat itself. His are much more severe than mine were. I have partial complex seizures. Since the medications I have experienced none. Fortunately for me.
