Considering that you can only short a stock on an uptick ... The theory is that the NASDAQ Market Makers are shorting and otherwise manipulating this stock. They don't need upticks and can short at any time. The last two stocks I was involved in where the participants were screaming about MM manipulation were RGA.V and ESOL (the latter fortunately through an option). So far neither stock has recovered much ground from the "manipulation" so maybe it wasn't manipulation at all but instead a valid repricing by the market. The manipulation story is starting wear thin here, too. Market Maker this, Market Maker that. Evil Shorty. Maybe people are tired of waiting and are selling (bad timing, I think) a stock that's done squat while so many other opportunities ran like greyhounds. Or worse, maybe someone's got some whispers from the lab. Does this action look similiar to the action before the last press release announcing the non-completion completion?
