Tomorrow we will receive Q2 2007 results. Many companies in the aerospace sector have already reported strong results. Growing expectations for Astronics have already been factored into the stock price. We are up 100% for the year and as usual I'm worried about tomorrows report. If I was really worried, I would have sold more of my position. But my luck in investing has seldom delivered great numbers two quarters in a row or when my own personal expectation (hopes??) have been running high. My hopes were high for the Q4 2006 earnings report and my hopes and the stock price were crushed by a nasty surprise. I expected little in the Q1 2007 report and received the surprise of my life. My gut is feeling pretty good tonight, but I'm bracing for heartache. The question on the Yahoo message board is "give me the whisper number"? One new trader type who came onto the board a few weeks ago has been running with $0.35 or better. Numnuts has followed with a $0.36 estimate, but claims it is for giggles only. In the old days I would have posted my estimate, but given my recent track record with Astronics, I think I'll keep my number under my cap. I will be surprised if we come close to the $0.50 earned in Q1. Why do I post here on a message board no one else reads? To escape the rath of the Buffalo NY gang! CEB
