It is not hard for an unbiased person to see that the people of Iraq are not of one mind or one venue. I don't see much consideration for that reality on this thread... it is either that the Iraqis want freedom to reign or Iraqis hate Bush/America.

There are many groups with competing interests and agendas in Iraq, in addition to foreign interests that are happy to feed any hostilities. The idea of a national government that would treat them all justly and end up being an Ally to the USA in the war on terror is wonderful, and I haven't given up hope on it. The conflicts are complicated and it is a fools game to try to reduce them to a black and white, either/or, good vs evil outcome. Even trying to use terms like 'civil war' or apposing networks of 'insurgencies' doesn't completely account for the unique complexity of the situation. However, we are stuck with the limitations of language we have to do our best in describing our circumstance.

"The report by the prestigious Chatham House think tank notes that “there is not one civil war nor one insurgency, but several civil wars and insurgencies” going on simultaneously."
