Americas great failure in iraq has been the inability to get that oil to market in quantities sufficient to break that dependance on saudi arabia.

Thank you ,Thank you nadine!

We cannot break our dependence on Saudi oil while the world runs on oil. Saudi Arabia has too much and Iraq too little, even if it were pumping to the max. The world market is too tight and getting tighter. SA would still have the leverage of its resevoirs of oil. What might change is the leverage that the US had over Saudi behavior in SPITE of their leverage.
