Hawk,
The same way that the US sees Iran as a threat, Iran sees the US as threat too. I do not think Iran sees the US invading Iraq as a peace initiative.
I believe the situation is extremely complex and can not be solved by bombing or invading Iran. If the US administration decides to go with the stick approach rather than the carrot approach, I hope that someone in the administration takes Iran's retaliation threat seriously. After all, Iran was not starved for 10 years. As for funding so called extremist in the ME and South Asia, people fail to explore the possibility that maybe the second best Allie to US is doing the funding and support. However, since Israel does not see Saudi Arabia as big of a threat and believe that Iran is, the war drums are drumming for Iran. All those accusation and implications of Iran's misdeeds reminds me of WMDs in Iraq.
