real, Amaranth is a Canadian hedge fund You mean the Amaranth that blew up last year? The one based in Greenwich Conn.? Which last I heard was still part of the US? Although the energy trader who blew them up was based in Canada, Amaranth was still a US hedge fund. So probably the bulk of its investors were US based.
