The Chair gaveled the vote 'closed' just as a last-minute vote switch came across the electronic vote tally board, changing the displayed total. (There had been several, five I believe, late changes of votes that had *already been cast*. In other words, some members went back and changed their votes AFTER they had already been cast....)

It (the Chair gaveling the vote closed, just before one more vote switch came across the board) looked to be a momentary screw-up.

The Chair offered almost immediately to RE-HOLD the vote.

OPEN the vote back up so everyone could fairly cast their votes again.

(The GOP Leadership refused that... and still refuse that offer.)

Seems they prefer to have some sort of controversy instead of an open vote. :-)
