(NASDAQ NMS: AIPN) announced today that it has made the final payment for the purchase of a 70% interest in an oil and gas concession in Kazakstan through its wholly-owned subsidiary, American International Petroleum Kazakstan by issuing 1.0 million shares to Entredynamic Corp. and 500,000 shares to Med Shipping and Trading Ltd. Previously, the Company announced that on July 10, 1997, the Kazakstan Government transferred the title of the exploration License No. 953 (oil) to MSUP, a private Kazak company of which AIPC owns 70% interest. The License comprises 4.7 million acres and is located in western Kazakstan about 80 miles southeast of Chevron's multi-billion barrel Tengiz Oil field and the Caspian Sea. The Area is bordered to the South by Elf Aquitaines' License, and to the West by both Exxon/Oryx License and Amoco License.
