I would have to disagree with you on this. I don't think the hospital (or anyone) should be openly judgmental or critical. They provide the information and the education and support regarding the benefits of breastfeeding, but they have no business labelling anyone a "bad" mother for a decision that is this personal and they definitely shouldn't be treating any patient with anything less than respect and kindness.

If the hospital does its job with education, more mothers will understand the huge benefits of breastfeeding, but even so, you will have moms who just aren't going to be able to do it (and I don't mean the small number who can't but those who have to get right back to work, and can't handle the difficulties of expressing and storing). For employees to inflict their personal disapproval on mothers is to me an unacceptable behavior, and on a practical level, is ultimately self-defeating.

While I am all for education and taking away the temptations of formula, I find condemnation or rude behavior of any kind goes too far.
