Of course.

There is a legally protected right to raise children as parent see fit.

Now, many parents make stupid decisions.

But that's their right, being stupid is probably Constitutionally protected.

The problem with all these mandates and directives on how children should be raised that they inevitably bring nanny government literaly into one of the most fundamentally private arenas imaginable. First breastfeeding, then what? Hygiene? Apparel? Bedtime?

None of their damn business if I decide to feed my kid good food or a diet of mac 'n cheese, or if he gets to watch The Simpsons 24/7, etc. There are limits to this, of course, but government intrusion should be reserved for instances of abuse or other egregious parental behavior.

Breast feeding? Stay out of it except to inform concerning its benefits and assist in training the mother on how to do it if she doesn't know the drill.
